My Golden Ticket Reflections: When is Enough, Enough?

Oct 27, 2026

When is enough enough?

That's the question I kept coming back to after Golden Ticket wrapped yesterday. It's an unusual thing to ask a room of bridal shop owners who are already generating high revenue. These owners have hit the goals most of the industry is still chasing, and that's exactly why Mindi wants them asking it.

What Golden Ticket is

Golden Ticket is 36 hours inside Something New Boutique, hosted by BOSS alongside Something New, Mindi Linscombe, and Jordan Linscombe. Owners get a full behind-the-scenes look at how the store runs: its processes and systems, its team meetings, its marketing, and even its accounting and tax processes.

At BOSS, we think about a bridal business in three phases. Phase 1 is about making money. Phase 2 is about saving money, which means keeping more of what you earn through smarter systems and financial decisions. Phase 3 is about leaving a legacy with your business.

Golden Ticket is built for owners in Phase 2 who have their eyes fixed on Phase 3. They became entrepreneurs because they wanted to create impact, and they know that profitability turns into possibility.

Why stepping away changes what you see

I have noticed something consistent in the owners who come through Golden Ticket. When they step away from their own store and see a vision laid out in front of them, they start looking at their business differently.

For some owners, that brings clarity. They look at the big dream and confirm they're on track and heading where they want to go.

For others, it brings a different realization. The dream might be shaped differently than they thought. They might not actually want the lifestyle they've been working toward. Both outcomes are valuable, and neither one tends to happen while you're standing on your own sales floor in the middle of a busy week.

The owners who come to Golden Ticket are very goal oriented. That drive is a big part of how they reached this level. It also means they can keep chasing the next number without stopping to ask what it's for.

Over the years, I have met owners who reached their big goal and found it still wasn't satisfying. So I always ask Golden Ticket owners to take a few minutes with one question: when I look back at my life, will there be joy and fulfillment in hitting all of those goals?

I asked every Golden Ticket owner to leave asking three things about her business:

  1. Are we on track for the real vision?
  2. Are we on track for the real lifestyle?
  3. Are our values aligned with the way we spend our time and our money?

When the answer is no, its time to hold a recalibration meeting

Start with yourself, then bring in your co-owners or whoever is building the business with you, and decide together what the future looks like.

The conversation might sound like this. Should we focus on one location so we can have more time with family? Do we want multiple locations? At what revenue level does the business provide well for our family? Or do we want to keep growing, and if so, why?

One location can be a legacy decision. So can five. What matters is that the choice is made on purpose, with your values at the table, rather than by default because the next goal was the only thing on the calendar.

LEGACY IS THE POINT!

Your business is for more than just you, and so is your profit. It's for the people impacted decades after you, in your home, in your family, on your team, and in your city. Phase 3 asks you to decide what you want that impact to be and then build toward it deliberately.

If your store is already generating high revenue and you're ready to make choices that create positive change for generations, contact our team to see if we are a good fit to work together towards your goals.
